IP Ho Kin, Honic
is a practising barrister and a Chartered Marketer. He also possesses professional qualifications in Arbitration and Logistics & Transport. Before practising law, Mr. IP has acquired twenty plus years of commercial experiences in various fields.

Upon university graduation, Mr. Ip started his career as a business trainee in an international navigation group which owned the largest commercial fleet in the world in the mid 1980s. He received his all-rounded training in international shipping and marine insurance in London. He then worked as an operations controller in a commodity trading house and had executed thousands of contracts, insurance policies, & charter parties involving various types of commodities e.g. cement, non-ferrous metals, grains, edible oils, and energy commodities. He had dealt with eminent traders like Glencore, Cargill etc.

When Mr. Ip advanced into the directorate of a MNC in the mid 1990s, he was mainly responsible for corporate development. He had undertaken many sino-foreign joint ventures projects in different cities of China, e.g. coke factories, LPG depots, bonded warehouse, barley malting factory, luggage and handbag factory, distribution network of sanitary wares and building materials. Mr. Ip had acquired ample experiences in project management and ADRs involving commodity trading contracts, insurance policies, charter parties, B/Ls, and sino-foreign joint-ventures. He had participated in numerous arbitration proceedings of CIETAC, GAFTA, FOSFA, and LME.

Subsequently, Mr. IP worked as an independent business consultant until he commences legal practice.

Mr. Ip is now adopting a mixed practice in criminal, civil and public laws. He also accepts appointment as arbitrator and mediator for resolution of commercial disputes.

Alongside with his legal practice, Mr. Ip is also enthusiastic in tertiary education. Between 2010 and 2011, he has taught as a part-time Lecturer at the Graduate School of the City University of Hong Kong teaching master students the subject of "Special Topics in Language & Law".
